During yesterday’s Papal General Audience, the music ensemble in St. Peter's Square entertained the older generation with 1970s songs: Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond and Dancing Queen by ABBA. The latter celebrates nightlife.

The irreversible damage being done to our youth is beyond sad — it’s criminal. Watch Faith Groleau, a brave detransitioner, lay it out: “I was experimented on. I was not told they were experimental. I was told it was medicine and that it would help… It gave me complications the doctors ignored. I have a body that does not work.” She was fast-tracked, cut up, and drugged as a child. Now she’s physically disabled with recurring hernias, collapsed lung issues, and a medical system that refuses to take responsibility. This isn’t “care.” This is medical experimentation on confused kids — cheered on by activists and politicians while evidence mounts that puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries cause lifelong harm, infertility, and regret. The Cass Review, European countries pulling back, and exploding lawsuits prove it. But in Canada, the Liberals keep pushing this ideology like it’s sacred. We’re sacrificing an entire generation on the altar of woke feelings. Protect …More
It is premature to foresee an intervention by the Holy See regarding the German bishops on the blessings for homosexuals. Cardinal Pietro Parolin said this at the Augustinianum to present the book “Robert Francis Prevost. Free Under Grace”, as reported by VaticanNews.va on May 6. At this moment, Cardinal Parolin said, there is “dialogue”: “Let us see what happens.” He reiterated that the decision belongs to the Pope. “But in any case," he continued, “we have already for some time begun a dialogue, each expressing our own views.” Cardinal Parolin hopes that sanctions will not be necessary and that problems may be resolved peacefully, as should be the case in the Church. #newsZztiabfumv

Islamists attacked the parish of St. Louis de Montfort in Meza, Cabo Delgado, northern Mozambique, on April 30. According to Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), militants entered the parish in the afternoon and destroyed the church, parish offices, missionaries’ residence, and kindergarten. Buildings were set on fire and the historic church was reduced to rubble. The parish was founded in 1946 and was one of the main Catholic landmarks in the region. Bishop António Juliasse of Pemba said civilians were captured and forced to listen to speeches during the attack. The Cameroonian missionaries serving the parish were not present when the attackers arrived and were unharmed. There were no confirmed deaths during the April 30 attack. The insurgency in Cabo Delgado has continued since 2017 and has caused thousands of deaths and displaced more than one million people. Church officials say at least 118 churches and chapels have been destroyed during the conflict. Picture: ACN, #newsQveepjzxvl

On 27 April, Leo XIV’s liturgical vestment designer, Filippo Sorcinelli, spoke to DailyMail.co.uk about the papal liturgical wardrobe. Sorcinelli is a homosexual who uses imagery of sadomasochism in his work as a perfumer. He works with the Vatican's liturgical office to design vestments, not directly with Leo XIV. He said that the Pope does not stage spectacles: "Each visual choice contributes to building a language of reliability, balance and quiet authority." The means of communication are fabrics, colours and shapes. "Every detail is designed to support the Pope’s role, not draw attention away from it." Leo XIV has leaned into classic papal tailoring, reinstating details such as cufflinks and structured vestments that emphasise form and precision. Sorcinelli has never perceived a conflict between his faith and his vice: "I have never viewed faith and homosexuality as adversaries, but rather as a creative tension that fuels my work." He added that his experience within the Church …More

Overall effect: moves emphasis from the bishop’s ontological character to his operational style within an ongoing process, while increasing the risk of politicisation and factionalism.
Synod.va published on May 5 the final report of Study Group number 7 on the selection of bishops: “In the selection of a bishop, it is necessary to consider, among other qualities, his ‘synodal competencies’.” (page 3) At least, the document also mentions Catholic criteria: “Among the qualities sought in a bishop are moral integrity, doctrinal orthodoxy, pastoral sensitivity, leadership ability, and the capacity to administer the Church’s goods.” (page 3) The main idea of the report is expanding lay influence in bishop selection: “The cathedral chapter… finance council… lay council… youth and the poor should also be convened.” (page 4) The report proposes that, when a diocese is vacant, a committee be established to work with the Apostolic Nuncio, consisting of priests, consecrated religious, and laypersons. (page 5) Informants should include women, youth, academics, ecclesial movement members, the poor, marginalized persons, and representatives of Indigenous or minority communities. …More
Stay Faithful As Doctrine Comes Under Fire The Gospel reading emphasizes the importance of remaining faithful to Jesus amidst current controversies within the Church. Despite attempts to change Church teachings on marriage and sexuality, the truth remains unchanged. The Church, founded by Jesus, will endure, and Catholics are called to remain steadfast in their faith, relying on objective truth rather than personal opinions. Fr. From DA: "I am a practicing catholic. And I need to say something that's going to make a lot of people uncomfortable. Nigeria, the Sahel, India, Syria, Bangladesh, Pakistan, hundreds of Christians have been murdered this year alone. Churches burned to the ground, pastors kidnapped and killed. Communities that have practiced their faith for centuries are being wiped out. Pope Leo XIV has said almost nothing. NO named condemnations, NO emergency visits, NO breaking of protocol, just quiet platitudes about dialogue and peace - directed at nobody in particular. BUT the week Trump escalated the Iran war? Leo flew across continents, gave media interviews, posted viral messages and had three Cardinals appear on 60 minutes in what felt like a coordinated response. Bishop Strickland was removed for defending the Church doctrine. Bishop Fernández in Puerto Rico was removed for defending religious exemptions that the cathechism itself supports. During Covid, goverments padlocked churches across …More
